Facebook Page and Ads Manager migration from personal to business account

Purpose: To move Facebook assets, such as Facebook Page and Ad Accounts, from a personal Facebook profile to Facebook Business Manager.

Ideal Result: Now that you have a Facebook Business Manager account, you can manage all of your Facebook resources.

Requirements or prerequisites:

A Business Manager Account is required;

You can refer to blog 010’s “Create a Business Manager Account” chapter if you do not already have one or are unfamiliar with Facebook Business Manager;

Why it is significant: In order to manage Facebook Pages, Ad Accounts, and the team members involved in them, all in one location.

The location of this is Facebook Business Manager.

When to complete this: The earlier the better, as there are no drawbacks to this approach.

Who does this: Anyone with admin access to the Business Manager and ownership of the asset.

From a personal Facebook profile to Facebook Business Manager, move Facebook Pages and Ad Accounts

No matter if you are a firm giving access to workers or agencies or an agency managing campaigns for clients, always use Facebook Business Manager to manage your Facebook assets.

Important: You should only claim Facebook Pages and Ad Accounts if you want to be the legitimate owner of those assets. Do not claim any assets that you worked on as an employee, freelancer, or agency (such as Pages, Ad Accounts, etc.). Instead, you can request that the owner follow the Grant Access to Facebook Business Manager blog, and you will then be given the appropriate role.

Admin access for Facebook page is necessary

Typical case: During the early phases of your company, you or an employee used their personal profile to create a Facebook Page or an Ad Account. Business Manager should now be used by your company to manage your assets. Additionally, you will be able to simply provide and revoke access to your assets to your workers, as well as when working with independent contractors, agencies, or consultants.

Who carries out this action: the Business Manager account administrator who wants to claim the assets. (This might be the company owner, the CEO, or another dependable employee.)

Making the switch from Facebook Pages to your Business Manager:

  1. Click here to see your Business Manager Settings.
  2. Click “Pages” “Add” “Add a Page” on the sidebar.

  1. Click “Add Page,” then type the name of your Page or the URL of your page.

  1. I am done now! Your page has been uploaded to your Business Manager. Your request will be promptly approved if you were already an admin of the page. You will then be added as a page admin for that page inside your business manager.

Ad Account Migration to Your Business Manager:

  1. Click here to log into your Business Manager.
  2. Click “Ad Accounts” “Add” “Add an Ad Account” on the sidebar.

  1. Your “Ad account ID” will be requested in a field. To locate your Ad Account ID, open “Ads Manager” and select the top-left dropdown. After pasting the Ad Account ID into the appropriate field, click “Add Ad Account”:

  1. That is it; you have now taken ownership of your ad account. If you were an admin before, have been granted admin access to it.
